Fractions Time....... !!

We are learning about fractions in Room 8 in Week 5 of Term 4. Some of the things we are learning about fractions are:

Fraction: One of more parts of a whole or a set

Fraction has two part a denominator and a numerator

The denominator is the number written under the bar and tells the number of parts a whole is divided into

The numerator is the number written above the bar. The numerator tells the number of parts of the whole that are being counted

We are now able to physically show wholes and halves using materials. We are ready to learn about quarters and practice writing and drawing fractions.
